A Glossy Ibis was seen in flooded fields at Burgh St Peter and also in flight over neighbouring Carlton Marshes, 30 January. A Bittern was recorded at Lopham Fen, 28 January, while Little Egrets were noted at Beccles Common and Earsham GP, 28 January, Lopham Fen, 29 January, Oulton Marshes, 30 January, Carlton Marshes, 31 January and Haddiscoe Island (eight), 2 February. A Red-throated Diver was seen on the river at Carlton Marshes, 30 January and 2 February.

A Rough-legged Buzzard was present daily at Haddiscoe Island throughout the week. A male Hen Harrier was seen at Haddiscoe Island, 28 January and a Peregrine at Carlton Marshes, 30 January. Other raptors included Merlins at Oulton Marshes, 30 January and Haddiscoe Island (two), 2 February, Marsh Harriers at Haddiscoe Island (three), 28 January, Carlton Marshes (two), 30 January, Lopham Fen (two), 1 February and Beccles Marshes and Burgh Castle, 3 February and Buzzards at Beccles Marshes (five) and Haddiscoe Island (five), 3 February. Short-eared Owls were noted at Haddiscoe Island (two) and Waveney Forest, Fritton, 29 January and Barn Owls at Lopham Fen, 28 January and Haddiscoe Island (four), Carlton Marshes, 30 January.

A Grey Wagtail was seen at Beccles and four Water Pipits at Haddiscoe Island, 28 January, a Brambling at Beccles Common, 31 January, a Nuthatch at Lopham Fen, 1 February and a flock of 50 Siskins at North Cove SWT reserve, 3 February. Lesser Redpolls were recorded at Earsham GP (11) and Lopham Fen (three), 28 January; Bearded Tits at Carlton Marshes (three), 30 January, Fritton Marshes, 1 February and Lopham Fen (four), 3 February; Stonechats at Haddiscoe Island (two), Lopham Fen, 28 January, Carlton Marshes (two), 30 January and Fritton Marshes, 2 February and Cetti’s Warblers at Fritton Marshes, 28 January, Oulton Marshes, 30 January, Carlton Marshes (ten), 31 January and Lopham Fen, 3 February. A count of 1000 Starlings was made at Haddiscoe Island, 28 January.

White-fronted Geese were recorded at Haddiscoe Island (25), 28 January and Burgh St Peter Marshes (seven), 3 February and Pink-footed Geese at Haddiscoe Island (3000), 28 January and Burgh St Peter Marshes (2000), 3 February and a count of 310 Wigeon was made at Carlton and Oulton Marshes, 30 January.

Finally wader records included 5000 Lapwings at Haddiscoe Island, 28 January, a Green Sandpiper at the same site the following day and a Woodcock at near-by St Olaves, 2 February.
