Evening Bird Walk – Hazelwood Marshes and the Sailor’s Path, Aldeburgh
Tuesday 1st August (Book place with Kathy)
The evening walk will start at the carpark of the Sailors’ Path. Hazelwood Marshes was decimated by the December 2013 tidal surge, resulting in a change from a freshwater to estuarine habitat. The path is approximately six miles long leading through open heaths, extensive woodlands and marshy meadows to Snape and is one of Suffolk’s most delightful and popular walks and a great venue for birdwatchers. We only intend to walk one way, from Aldeburgh towards Snape, so the leaders will organize car parking so we have vehicles both ends.
Leaders: Steve Piotrowski and Chris McIntyre
Time: 6.30 pm
