North Warren (am) & Hazelwood Marshes (pm)

Sunday 18 February

Wetland sites around Aldeburgh are becoming an amazing attraction for birds and
birdwatchers. The RSPB has erected four new observation platforms at their North Warren
nature reserve and we will spend the morning looking at wildfowl and waders that should be feeding on the marshes. In the afternoon, we shall move to Hazelwood Marshes, which was decimated by the December 2013 tidal surge resulting in a change from a freshwater to estuarine habitat. We will be present on the gathering high tide and hopefully view waders at close quarters.

8.30am start – Halfway House
