WBC Sightings

1 to 7 July 2018

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Greenshank, 50 Black-tailed Godwits, two Little Ringed Plovers, a Common Sandpiper and a Curlew, 1 July, three Wood Sandpipers and a (Common) Redshank, 2 July, a Spotted Redshank and a Green Sandpiper, 3 July, two Ruff, 5 July and two Snipe, 7 July.

Notable passerines at Carlton Marshes included four juvenile Stonechats, 1 July, two juvenile Yellow Wagtails, 2 July and a singing male Grasshopper Warbler, 3 July, while elsewhere two Spotted Flycatchers were noted at St James South Elmham, 5 July.

Red Kites were seen at Carlton Marshes, 2 July and Beccles (three), 5 July, with a Peregrine seen at Carlton Marshes, 5 July, a Hobby at Somerleyton, 7 July and three Barn Owls at Carlton Marshes, 4 July.

Finally, four Little Egrets were noted at Carlton Marshes, 6 July.
