WBC Sightings

10 to 16 June 2018

The Corncrake was again heard calling at Earsham Marshes, 10 June. An immature Glossy Ibis landed briefly at Carlton Marshes, 10 June before flying off east.

A Spotted Flycatcher was recorded at Beccles Common, 10 June and two Yellow Wagtails and a Cetti’s Warbler at Carlton Marshes, 16 June. Cuckoos were noted at Oulton Marshes, 15 June and Gillingham Marshes, 16 June and Grasshopper Warblers at Oulton Marshes, 15 June and Carlton Marshes, 16 June.

A Peregrine was seen at Flixton (near Bungay), 16 June. Red Kites were noted at Carlton Marshes and North Cove, 15 June and Flixton (near Bungay), 16 June; Hobbies at Somerleyton, 11 June, Beccles Common, 13 June and Carlton Marshes (two) and Flixton (near Bungay), 16 June and Barn Owls at Beccles Marshes, Earsham, 10 June, Carlton Marshes, 11 June and Oulton Marshes, 15 June.

Redshanks were recorded at Oulton Marshes (five) and Carlton Marshes, 16 June.

Finally, an unseasonable Brent Goose was present at Carlton Marshes, 16 June.
