WBC Sightings

11 to 17 June 2017

Hobbies were seen at Carlton Marshes, 12 June, Oulton Marshes, 14 June and Lopham Fen (two), 15 June. Red Kites were recorded at Beccles and Oulton Marshes/Carlton Marshes/Barnby, 14 June and Geldeston and Somerleyton, 17 June and a Peregrine was perched on St Mary’s Church tower, Bungay, 13 June. Barn Owls were noted at Carlton Marshes (three), 12 June, Gillingham Marshes, 15 June, Oulton Marshes, 16 June and St James South Elmham, 17 June.

A Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and three Spotted Flycatchers were seen at St James South Elmham, 15 June. Two Yellow Wagtails were noted at Carlton Marshes, 12 June and three Bearded Tits and a Kingfisher at Lopham Fen, 15 June. Cuckoos were recorded at Carlton Marshes (two), 12 June and Lopham Fen, 15 June and Cetti’s Warblers at Carlton Marshes (two), 12 June and Herringfleet Marshes, 17 June.

Waders at Carlton Marshes included three Redshanks, 12 June and a Spotted Redshank, 11 Black-tailed Godwits and two Green Sandpipers, 15 June. Finally, two Little Egrets were present at Redgrave Fen, 14 June.
