The long-staying Rough-legged Buzzard at Haddiscoe Island remained throughout the week. Other raptors at Haddiscoe Island included three Short-eared Owls and two Barn Owls, 15 February and a ringtail Hen Harrier, a Merlin, two Peregrines and three Marsh Harriers, 17 February. Elsewhere, a Peregrine was seen at Carlton Marshes, 14 February, Marsh Harriers at Somerleyton Marshes (three), 12 February, Herringfleet Marshes (two), 15 February, Carlton Marshes (three) and Lopham Fen (two), 17 February and Barn Owls at Beccles, 11 February, Lopham Fen, 13 February, Herringfleet Marshes, 15 February and Carlton Marshes, 16 February.
A group of 16 Bewick’s Swans flew east over St Olaves, 16 February, 320 Pink-footed Geese flew over Somerleyton Marshes, 17 February and two escaped Black Swans were noted at Gillingham Marshes, 12 February. Wildfowl at Carlton Marshes included 125 Wigeon, 14 February and 150 Teal and two Pintail, 17 February.
A Grey Wagtail was noted at Beccles, 11 February, a Brambling at St Olaves, 16 February and two Water Pipits and a Chiffchaff at Carlton Marshes, 17 February.. Lesser Redpolls were recorded at Lopham Fen (three), 11 February and St Olaves, 14 February; Stonechats at Carlton Marshes (three) and Lopham Fen (two), 17 February; Bearded Tits at Lopham Fen (two), 11 February and Carlton Marshes (six), 17 February; Cetti’s Warblers at Somerleyton Marshes, 12 February and Lopham Fen (two), 17 February and Kingfishers at Carlton Marshes and Lopham Fen, 11 February. A flock of 150 Fieldfares was present at Carlton Marshes, 15 February.
Waders included 500 Golden Plovers and 500 Lapwings at Haddiscoe Island, 11 February, two Woodcock at Herringfleet Hills, 15 February, 30 Black-tailed Godwits at Castle Marsh, North Cove, 16 February and a Ruff, 68 Snipe and two Redshanks at Carlton Marshes, 17 February.
Finally, Little Egrets were noted at Haddiscoe Island (six) and Lopham Fen, 11 February, Herringfleet Marshes (two), 15 February, Outney Common, Bungay (five), 16 February and Carlton Marshes, 17 February.
