WBC Sightings

11 to 17 March 2018

Two Black Redstarts were seen in a garden along Southend Road, Bungay, 15 to 17 March. Bramblings were recorded at Camps Heath (Oulton), Fallowfields (Oulton) and St Olaves, 14 March. A Water Pipit was noted at Carlton Marshes, 11 March, a Grey Wagtail at Beccles, 12 March, a male Blackcap and a singing Chiffchaff at St Olaves and a Kingfisher at Earsham GP, 14 March and two Lesser Redpolls at Lopham Fen, 17 March.

Marsh Harriers were seen at Carlton Marshes (five), 11 March and Lopham Fen (two), 17 March and ten Buzzards were noted at Earsham GP, 14 March. A Short-eared Owl was seen at St James South Elmham, 15 March, with Barn Owls reported from Carlton Marshes (six) ad Beccles Common, 13 March.

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Ruff, 33 Snipe and two Redshanks, 11 March.

Notable wildfowl included two Pintail and 225 Teal at Carlton Marshes, 11 March and two Little Egrets were also recorded at Carlton Marshes on the same day.
