WBC Sightings

12 to 18 June 2016

Carlton Marshes hosted six Spoonbills on 12 June, while Little Egrets were reported from Earsham (two) and Shotford Bridge, Weybread, 12 June, Herringfleet Marshes, 14 June and Carlton Marshes (three) and Fritton Marshes (two), 17 June.

Turtle Doves were recorded at Flixton (near Bungay, two), 12 June and Worlingham, 16 June and Spotted Flycatchers at St James South Elmham and Weybread churchyard, 12 June. A Grey Wagtail was seen at Worlingham and two Yellow Wagtails at Carlton Marshes, 12 June and a Stonechat at Oulton Marshes, 16 June. Cuckoos were noted at Carlton Marshes (four), 13 June and Oulton Marshes, 16 June; Bearded Tits at Herringfleet Marshes (seven), 14 June and Fritton Marshes, 17 June; Grasshopper Warblers at Carlton Marshes (three) and Oulton Marshes, 16 June and Cetti’s Warblers at Carlton Marshes, 12 June and Beccles Marshes (three), 16 June.

A Red Kite was seen at Beccles, 12 and 16 June, while notable counts of Buzzards included four at Earsham GP, 12 June and three at Beccles Marshes, 16 June. A Short-eared Owl was hunting at Carlton Marshes, 14 June and Barn Owls were reported from Carlton Marshes (three), 12 June and Beccles Marshes (two), 16 June.

Single Green Sandpipers were present at Earsham GP and Flixton GP, 12 June and five Spotted Redshanks, a Little Ringed Plover and two Redshanks were noted at Carlton Marshes, 16 June.
