The wader highlight of the week was a Wood Sandpiper at Carlton Marshes on 19 June. Other waders at Carlton Marshes included five Black-tailed Godwits, a Curlew and a Redshank, 17 June, a Green Sandpiper, 21 June and a Snipe, 22 June, with two Redshanks also noted at Oulton Marshes, 21 June.
The Corncrake was again heard calling at Earsham Marshes, 17 June and the Brent Goose was again present at Carlton Marshes on the same day. Two Little Egrets were noted at Redgrave Fen, 18 June.
A Turtle Dove was heard at St James South Elmham, 18 June and Spotted Flycatchers were recorded at St James South Elmham (three pairs) and Beccles Common, 17 June. An adult Yellow Wagtail was seen feeding young at Carlton Marshes, 22 June and two pairs of Grey Wagtails both accompanied by young were seen at Worlingham, 23 June. Cuckoos were noted at Beccles Marshes and Carlton Marshes, 17 June, Lopham Fen, 18 June and Oulton Marshes, 21 June and Grasshopper Warblers at Lopham Fen, 18 June and Carlton Marshes, 23 June.
Red Kites were seen at Carlton Colville, Geldeston and Gillingham, 17 June, Hobbies at Diss Mere, 17 June and Lopham Fen (two), 18 June and a Barn Owl at Carlton Marshes, 20 June.
