WBC Sightings

17 to 23 May 2015

Turtle Doves were seen at Beccles and Carlton Colville, 17 May, Withersdale (two), 21 May and Oulton Marshes, 23 May, with Cuckoos noted at Oulton Marshes (two) and Beccles, 17 May, Carlton Marshes, 21 May and Lopham Fen (five), 23 May. A Nightingale was singing at Outney Common, Bungay, 20 May and two Bearded Tits were recorded at Herringfleet Marshes, 23 May. Grey Wagtails were reported from Diss Mere (two), 19 May and Outney Common (two), 20 May, Cetti’s Warblers from Beccles Marshes (three), 19 May, Burgh Castle, 20 May, Carlton Marshes (two), 21 May, Oulton Marshes (four) and Herringfleet Marshes, 23 May and Kingfishers from Beccles Marshes and Outney Common, 20 May.

Two first-summer Little Gulls were present at Burgh Castle Flats, 21 May and a pair of Garganey was seen at Oulton Marshes, 23 May. Little Egrets were noted at Redgrave Fen (two) and Beccles Marshes, 19 May, Outney Common, 20 May, Carlton Marshes, 21 May and Oulton Marshes (two) and Herringfleet Marshes, 23 May.

A Peregrine was perched on the tower of St Mary’s Church, Bungay, 21 and 23 May, a Hobby was hunting at Redgrave Fen, 19 May and Barn Owls were reported from Beccles Marshes, 19 May, Outney Common, 20 May and Carlton Marshes, 21 May.
