WBC Sightings

19 to 25 July 2015

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Ruff and three Green Sandpipers, 20 July and two Greenshanks, 21 July. Elsewhere, 40 Black-tailed Godwits were present at Aldeby shooting lakes and a Common Sandpiper at Redgrave Fen, 20 July and 40 Avocets and 300 Black-tailed Godwits at Burgh Castle Flats the following day. Little Egrets were noted at Weybread GP, 19 July, Redgrave Fen (three), 20 July and Burgh Castle (19) and Carlton Marshes (seven), 21 July.

A Red Kite flew over Burgh Castle, 21 July, while Hobbies were recorded at Redgrave Fen, 20 July and Beccles, 25 July and Barn Owls at Shipmeadow, 21 July and Beccles Marshes, 25 July.

13 Yellow Wagtails roosted at Burgh Castle, 21 July and a juvenile Cuckoo was seen at Beccles Marshes, 25 July. Finally, Kingfishers were noted at Redgrave Fen, 20 July, Burgh Castle, 21 July and Beccles Quay, 23 July.
