WBC Sightings

19 to 25 May 2013

Two Cranes were feeding at Castle Marsh, North Cove late afternoon on 23 May. Little Egrets were present at Castle Marsh (three), 23 May, and Carlton Marshes, 26 May.

An Osprey was perched in a tree at Somerleyton Marshes, 23 May. Hobbies were seen at Langmere near Dickleburgh, 21 May, and Castle Marsh, 23 May, and a Barn Owl at Stuston Common, 25 May.

The first Spotted Flycatcher was recorded at Mount Street, Diss, 19 May. Turtle Doves were seen at Burgh Castle, 19 May, Beccles Marshes, 21 May, and Withersdale Street, 23 May, and a Cuckoo at Castle Marsh, 23 May. A Kingfisher and a Cetti’s Warbler were noted at Beccles Marshes, 21 May.

Whimbrels were present at Burgh Castle Flats (three), 19 May, and Castle Marsh, 23 May, and four Avocet, 38 Black-tailed Godwit and ten Redshank were recorded at Burgh Castle Flats, 26 May.
