2 to 8 August 2015

The summer wader fest at Carlton Marshes continued with eight Green Sandpipers and two Redshanks, 5 August, 15 Black-tailed Godwits, four Ruffs, six Greenshanks and three Little Ringed Plovers, 7 August and a Dunlin, 8 August. Elsewhere, a Greenshank was present at Outney Common, Bungay, 3 August, two Green Sandpipers at Redgrave Fen, 6 August and 77 Avocets at Burgh Castle, 8 August, while Earsham GP hosted four Green Sandpipers, 3 August and a Common Sandpiper, 7 August.

Hobbies were recorded at Belton and Redgrave Fen, 3 August, Beccles Marshes, 6 August and Carlton Marshes (two), 7 August. Notable counts of Buzzards included seven at St Olaves and five at Carlton Colville, 7 August. Barn Owls were reported from St James South Elmham, 2 August, Beccles Marshes, 3 August and Carlton Marshes, 8 August.

Two Turtle Doves were seen at Earsham, 7 August. Kingfishers were recorded at Outney Common and Redgrave Fen, 3 August and Burgh Castle, 8 August and a juvenile Stonechat was present at Beccles Marshes, 6 August.

A Bittern was seen in flight at Burgh Castle, 8 August, while Little Egrets were noted at Redgrave Fen (two) and Fritton Marshes, 3 August, Carlton Marshes (six), 5 August and Burgh Castle (eight), 8 August.
