The first Hobby of the spring was seen at Beccles Marshes, 22 April, with another at Castle Marsh, North Cove, 25 April, while a Red Kite was noted at Barsham and two Peregrines at St Olaves, 26 April. Two Short-eared Owls were hunting at Thorpe Marshes, Haddiscoe, 22 April.
Migrant passerines included a Ring Ouzel at Carlton Marshes, 21 April and a Wheatear at Beccles Marshes the following day. The roost of Yellow Wagtails at Burgh Castle peaked at 80 on 23 April.
The passage of Whimbrels through the valley included one at Burgh Castle, 21 April, ten at Beccles Marshes and one at Carlton Marshes, 22 April, 30 at Castle Marsh and two at Beccles Marshes, 24 April and 17 at Castle Marsh, 25 April. Other waders at Burgh Castle on 21 April included five Spotted Redshanks, two Knot, two Bar-tailed Godwits, 219 Black-tailed Godwits and two Dunlin. A Curlew was recorded at Beccles Marshes, 22 April, while Green Sandpipers were noted at Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 22 April and Burgh Castle (two), 24 April. Finally, four Little Egrets were present at Carlton Marshes, 21 April.
