A Firecrest was seen at Fritton Lake, 27 February. A Grey Wagtail was present at Oulton Marshes, 22 February and an impressive count of 200 Siskins was made at North Cove SWT reserve, 24 February. Stonechats were recorded at Belton Marshes (two), 21 February and Beccles Marshes, 22 February; Bearded Tits at Burgh Castle, 21 February, Herringfleet Marshes (two), 24 February and Fritton Marshes, 27 February; Cetti’s Warblers at Oulton Marshes, 22 February and Herringfleet Marshes (three), 24 February and Kingfishers at Earsham GP (two), 23 February, Herringfleet Marshes, 24 February, Beccles Marshes and Carlton Marshes, 26 February and Burgh Castle, 27 February.
A Great White Egret was reported at Worlingham Marshes, 21 February, while Little Egrets were noted at Belton Marshes (two) and Carlton Marshes (two), 21 February and Haddiscoe Island (three), 23 February.
A Rough-legged Buzzard was seen at Haddiscoe Island from 25 February to the end of the week, while other raptors recorded at this site included a male Hen Harrier, 21 February, a ringtail Hen Harrier, 25 February, six Marsh Harriers and two Short-eared Owls, 26 February and two Peregrines, six Buzzards and two Barn Owls, Haddiscoe Island, 27 February. Marsh Harriers were also noted at Burgh Castle (two), 21 February, Somerleyton Marshes (two), 22 February, Herringfleet Marshes (four), 24 February and Carlton Marshes (two) and Beccles Marshes, 26 February; Short-eared Owls at Oulton Marshes, 25 February and Carlton Marshes, 26 February and Barn Owls at Ashby, 21 February, Beccles Marshes and Wheatacre Marshes, 22 February, Fritton Lake, Herringfleet Marshes and North Cove, 24 February, Mettingham, 25 February and Belton Marshes, 27 February.
Notable wildfowl included 67 Bewick’s Swans flying east over Burgh Castle and 170 Wigeon at Oulton Marshes, 22 February and 3000 Pink-footed Geese at Haddiscoe Island and six Goldeneye at Fritton Lake, 27 February.
Waders at Burgh Castle included 300 Black-tailed Godwits and 45 Redshanks, 21 February and two Spotted Redshanks and six Avocets, 27 February, with a Woodcock at St Olaves, also 27 February.
Finally, an adult Mediterranean Gull was noted at Earsham GP, 23 February.
