A Rough-legged Buzzard was seen intermittently at Haddiscoe Island throughout the week, while other raptors at this site included a male Hen Harrier, 22 February and two Peregrines, three Marsh Harriers, eight Short-eared Owls and five Barn Owls, 25 February. Elsewhere, a Short-eared Owl was seen at Oulton Marshes, 26 February and a Peregrine perched on St Mary’s Church, Bungay, 28 February, while Marsh Harriers were recorded at Barsham Marshes, 22 February, Herringfleet Marshes, 23 February, Beccles Marshes, 24 February and Lopham Fen and Herringfleet Marshes, 28 February, Buzzards at Barsham Marshes (three), 22 February and Ditchingham (three), 27 February and Barn Owls at Beccles Marshes, 24 February, Oulton Marshes (three), 26 February, Ditchingham and Roydon Fen, 27 February and Lopham Fen, 28 February.
A Bewick’s Swan flew over Bungay, 22 February and a Pink-footed Goose was seen at Haddiscoe Island, 25 February.
Waders included two Green Sandpipers at Outney Common, Bungay, 22 February, 40 Black-tailed Godwits and 16 Curlews at Burgh Castle, 26 February and eight Redshanks at Carlton Marshes, 28 February. Little Egrets were noted at Outney Common (two) and Belton Marshes, 22 February, Haddiscoe Island, 25 February and Carlton Marshes, 27 February.
A Grey Wagtail was present at Beccles Quay, 24 February and a Bearded Tit was seen at Herringfleet Marshes, 28 February, while Kingfishers were reported from Outney Common, 22 February, Beccles Quay, 23 February and Burgh Castle, 25 February.
