WBC Sightings

A Peregrine was perched on the tower of St Mary’s Church, Bungay, 25 May. Red Kites were seen at Belton, 27 May, Gillingham, 28 May and Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 29 May, Hobbies at St Olaves, 24 May, Beccles, 25 May and Ashby and Outney Common, Bungay, 26 May and Barn Owls at Beccles Marshes, 25 May, Carlton Marshes (two), 29 May and Oulton Marshes, 30 May.

A male Garganey was present at Oulton Marshes, 25 May and Little Egrets were noted at Outney Common, 25 May, Herringfleet Marshes, 27 May, Carlton Marshes (four), 29 May and Oulton Marshes, 30 May.

Four Crossbills were seen at Ashby, 26 May. Turtle Doves were recorded at Beccles Marshes and Herringfleet Hills, 26 May and Withersdale Street (two), 29 May, Cuckoos at St Olaves, 24 May, Carlton Marshes (two), Lopham Fen and Oulton Marshes, 25 May, Outney Common (two) and Herringfleet, 26 May and Burgh Castle, 30 May and Kingfishers at Outney Common (two), Lopham Fen and Ellingham Mill, 25 May. Two Nightingales were singing at Outney Common, 25 May, a Spotted Flycatcher was seen at Waterloo, near Gillingham, 26 May and a Bearded Tit was noted at Herringfleet Marshes, 27 May. Grasshopper Warblers were heard at Carlton Marshes, 24 May and Oulton Marshes, 30 May, Grey Wagtails were seen at Ellingham Mill (two) and Wainford Mill, Bungay (two), 25 May and Cetti’s Warblers were reported from Carlton Marshes (four), Bath Hills, Earsham (two) and Outney Common, 25 May, Beccles Marshes (four), 26 May, Herringfleet Marshes (two), 27 May and Somerleyton (six), Blundeston Marshes and Oulton Marshes, 30 May.
