26 August to 1 September 2018

The adult Cattle Egret at Burgh Castle was present all week and another adult Cattle Egret was present at Carlton Marshes, 31 August and 1 September. Little Egrets were recorded at Carlton Marshes (two), 27 August, Herringfleet Marshes, 29 August, Redgrave Fen, 30 August and Burgh Castle (five), 1 September.

Passerines at Burgh Castle included 60 Yellow Wagtails and 37 Pied Wagtails going to roost and a Bearded Tit, 27 August. Spotted Flycatchers were seen at Beccles Common and Weybread GP, 28 August and three Whinchats and a Grey Wagtail at Carlton Marshes, 31 August. A Kingfisher was reported from Weybread GP, 28 August.

Waders at Burgh Castle included 40 Avocets, a Common Sandpiper and 70 Curlews, 27 August and seven Black-tailed Godwits and three Redshanks, 1 September. Two Green Sandpipers were present at Redgrave Fen, 30 August and a Common Sandpiper and three Greenshanks at Carlton Marshes the following day.

A Hobby was seen at Herringfleet, 29 August, while Barn Owls were noted at Carlton Marshes, 26 August, Burgh Castle (three), 27 August and Withersdale Street, 28 August.
