WBC Sightings

26 November to 2 December 2017

A Long-eared Owl was roosting in St James South Elmham churchyard on 1 December and a Barn Owl was noted at Burgh Castle, 2 December. Marsh Harriers were reported from Burgh Castle (three), 29 November and Lopham Fen (two), 2 December.

A Great White Egret was present at Redgrave Fen, 2 December, while Little Egrets were seen at Burgh Castle, 29 November and Lopham Fen, 2 December.

Notable waders included a Jack Snipe at Roydon Fen, 28 November and two Avocets, 19 Black-tailed Godwits, 50 Redshanks and two Dunlin at Burgh Castle, 29 November.

The female Ring-necked Parakeet was seen again at Oulton, 28 November and three Stonechats and three Cetti’s Warblers were recorded at Lopham Fen, 2 December. Bearded Tits were noted at Herringfleet Marshes (two), 26 November, Burgh Castle (two), 29 November and Lopham Fen (ten), 2 December and a Kingfisher at Herringfleet Marshes, 26 November.
