27 August to 2 September 2017

A Tree Pipit was an unusual record for Carlton Marshes, 2 September. Carlton Marshes also hosted a Yellow Wagtail, 30 August and seven Whinchats and a Wheatear, 31 August. Kingfishers were recorded at Weybread GP, 28 August, Carlton Marshes, 31 August and Beccles Marshes (three), 2 September.

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Common Sandpiper, 27 August, two Green Sandpipers, 29 August, a Ringed Plover, 30 August, four Ruffs, two Greenshanks and two Dunlin, 31 August and 15 Black-tailed Godwits and 15 Snipe, 1 September. Green Sandpipers were also present at Earsham GP (five) and Lopham Fen, 27 August.

Raptor sightings included two Hobbies and a Marsh Harrier at Carlton Marshes and a Peregrine at Worlingham, 2 September, with a Marsh Harrier also seen at Beccles Marshes, 1 September. Barn Owls were reported from Carlton Marshes, 27 August and Beccles Marshes, 1 September.

Finally, two Little Egrets were noted at Carlton Marshes, 31 August.
