WBC Sightings

27 May to 2 June 2018

A Honey Buzzard flew north over Bungay late morning on 30 May and an Osprey flew west along Oulton Dyke, 2 June. Hobbies were recorded at Oulton Marshes, 27 May and Redgrave Fen (three), 29 May and Barn Owls at Carlton Marshes, 27 May, Earsham, 29 May and Lopham Fen, 30 May. An escaped Black Kite was seen at Beccles, 2 June.

A Great White Egret was present at Oulton Marshes, 27 May.

A Wheatear was seen at Oulton Marshes, 28 May, while at nearby Carlton Marshes two Yellow Wagtails were recorded on 27 May and two Grasshopper Warblers the following day. Cuckoos were noted at Lopham Fen (two) and Beccles Marshes, 27 May, Carlton Marshes, 28 May and Oulton, 31 May, Spotted Flycatchers at Beccles Common (two), 28 May and Ditchingham, 30 May and Kingfishers at Beccles Marshes and Castle Marsh, North Cove, 28 May.

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Common Sandpiper, 27 May and a Dunlin, 2 June.
