WBC Sightings

28 February to 5 March 2016

The Cattle Egret, present at Aldeby earlier in the month, was relocated in fields by Cove Dam, North Cove on 29 February and remained until the end of the week and Little Egrets were recorded at Blundeston Marshes, 4 March and Worlingham Marshes, 5 March.

A flock of 100 Siskins was present at North Cove SWT reserve, 2 March, while a Brambling was seen at Gillingham, 28 February, a Stonechat at Carlton Marshes, 4 March and Kingfishers at Carlton Marshes and Gillingham Marshes, 4 March and Worlingham Marshes, 5 March.

A Peregrine was seen at Outney Common, Bungay, 28 February. Short-eared Owls were noted at Carlton Marshes, 29 February and Waveney Forest, Fritton (three), 5 March and Barn Owls at Carlton Marshes, 29 February, North Cove, 3 March and Gillingham Marshes and Gapton Marshes, Bradwell, 4 March.

Finally, a Woodcock seen in flight at Waveney Forest at dusk on 5 March.
