28 July to 3 August 2019

Numbers of Wood Sandpipers peaked on 28 July, with 14 at Herringfleet Marshes and 11 at Carlton Marshes. Other waders at Herringfleet Marshes included six Greenshanks, two Black-tailed Godwits, 15 Green Sandpipers, 11 Common Sandpipers, two Snipe and a Curlew, 28 July, while at Carlton Marshes waders included three Golden Plovers, eight Green Sandpipers and five Common Sandpipers, 28 July, 26 Black-tailed Godwits, 29 July, a Dunlin, 1 August and three Greenshanks and a Little Ringed Plover, 2 August. Elsewhere, nine Green Sandpipers were present at Earsham GP, 28 July and two Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper and three Snipe at Redgrave Fen, 31 July.

A singing Grasshopper Warbler was heard at Carlton Marshes, 3 August. Elsewhere, two Bearded Tits were noted at Herringfleet Marshes, 28 July, a Kingfisher at Redgrave Fen, 31 July and a Spotted Flycatcher at Beccles Common, 2 August.

A Red Kite was seen at Carlton Marshes, 2 August, Hobbies were recorded at Lopham Fen (two) and Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 28 July, Herringfleet Marshes (two), 29 July and Beccles Common, 31 July and four Barn Owls were noted at Carlton Marshes, 31 July.

Finally, Little Egrets were recorded from Herringfleet Marshes (three), Carlton Marshes (two) and Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 28 July and Redgrave Fen (five), 31 July.
