WBC Sightings

7 to 13 September 2014

The Osprey was seen again at Broome GP, 9 September. A Merlin was present at Belton Marshes, 9 September and three Hobbies at Carlton Marshes the following day, while Marsh Harriers were noted at Waveney Forest, Fritton, 9 September, Carlton Marshes (two), 10 September and Burgh Castle (two), 12 September.

Waders at Burgh Castle included a Common Sandpiper, 27 Avocets, 12 Black-tailed Godwits, 12 Curlews and ten Redshanks, 12 September. A group of 16 Curlews flew north over Belton Marshes, 9 September, while Carlton Marshes hosted an Avocet, 10 September and a Ruff, 13 September.

A Spotted Flycatcher was seen at Carlton Marshes, 10 September, with nine Whinchats at the same site the following day and three late Reed Warblers at Burgh Castle, 12 September. Kingfishers were noted at Carlton Marshes, 10 September and Beccles
Marshes, 13 September.

Finally, Little Egrets were recorded at Burgh Castle (eight), 12 September and Carlton Marshes (two), 13 September.
