There was a major arrival of Yellow-browed Warblers along the east coast of England on 7 October, including two at Burgh Castle. A Ring Ouzel was seen at Carlton Marshes, 12 October, while Bramblings were recorded at Weybread GP, 7 October, Oulton Marshes (six), 10 October, Blundeston (four), 11 October and Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 12 October. A Cetti’s Warbler was heard at Oulton Marshes, 10 October, Stonechats were seen at Carlton Marshes (two), 7 October, Oulton Marshes, 10 October and Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe (two), 11 October and Kingfishers at Weybread GP (three), 7 October and Earsham (three), 8 October.
The long-staying adult Cattle Egret at Carlton Marshes was seen regularly throughout the week, while two Little Egrets were present at Herringfleet Marshes, 13 October. A Bittern was recorded at Carlton Marshes, 11 October.
A Jack Snipe was recorded at Thorpe-next-Haddiscoe, 11 October, while waders at Carlton Marshes included 15 Snipe, 8 October and three Dunlin, 12 October.
A late Hobby was seen at Oulton Marshes, 10 October, a Marsh Harrier was noted at Carlton Marshes, 12 October and Barn Owls were reported from Ellingham, 7 October and Carlton Marshes, 11 October.
