WBC Sightings

8 to 14 July 2018

Waders at Carlton Marshes included a Little Ringed Plover, 9 July, two Greenshanks, 11 July and six Ruff, 11 Black-tailed Godwits and three Snipe, 12 July, while elsewhere a Black-tailed Godwit was present at Oulton Marshes and a Common Sandpiper at Blundeston Marshes, 14 July.

A large flock of gulls, including 10 Mediterranean Gulls, was feeding on flying ants over Oulton on 14 July. Little Egrets were recorded at Lopham Fen (two), 11 July and Carlton Marshes (six), 12 July.

A Yellow Wagtail was recorded at Carlton Marshes, 9 July and two pairs of Spotted Flycatchers at St James South Elmham, 13 July.

A Red Kite was seen at Worlingham, 8 July, while single Hobbies were noted at Beccles Common, 10 July and Ashby, 12 July.
