9 to 15 September 2018

The adult Cattle Egret was back at Burgh Castle on 14 and 15 September and the regular adult Cattle Egret at Carlton Marshes was also back on 14 and 15 September. Little Egrets were recorded at Redgrave Fen (two) and Carlton Marshes, 9 September and Lopham Fen, 14 September.

A Short-eared Owl was hunting at Carlton Marshes, 15 September. A Marsh Harrier was noted at Redgrave Fen, 10 September, a Red Kite at North Cove, 11 September and Hobbies at Lopham Fen (three), Castle Marsh at North Cove and Worlingham, 9 September

Migrant passerines included a count of 200 Meadow Pipits that flew over Carlton Marshes, 12 September and 11 Whinchats at the same site on 15 September. Late summer visitors included a Sand Martin and a Willow Warbler at Redgrave Fen, 10 September and a Whitethroat at Beccles Common, 14 September.

Waders at Carlton Marshes included two Spotted Redshanks, 9 September, a Ruff, a Black-tailed Godwit and two Green Sandpipers, 12 September.

Finally, four Pintails were present at Redgrave Fen, 10 September.
